What is a “Fire Watch”?
The term “Fire Watch” is used to identify a procedure for the detection of re by person(s) designated when automatic detection systems are disabled.
A re watch is implemented to ensure the re-safety of a building or area in the event of any act, (e.g., hot work, nonfunctional suppression system or another situation) that may pose an increased risk to persons or property. Impact Security Group has highly trained and skilled officers to perform these duties. These officers are trained in evacuation techniques, re extinguisher, first aid, CPR and AED usage.
When is a “Fire Watch” required?
A re watch is required in the event of temporary a failure of the alarm system or where activities require the interruption of any re detection, suppression or alarm system components.
City and Provincial re officials have the authority to order property owners to have a re watch conducted. This is where Impact Security Group comes in. We provide the experienced and qualified officers needed to run 24-hour re watches. We also provide and prepare detailed re watch reports for local agencies as back up that you were acting with in the confines of Provincial Fire & Building Codes.
